How did I miss my chance to checkmate? I need new glasses!

  1. Just to point out you actually played the Alekhines defense and if white plays E5 on his second turn you probably wouldn't be familiar with the new position? If you want to stick with King's Indian sort of setup you should play d6 first move and then Nf6. You played well until missing the mate in one, and after finding the hard move too! Stick with that book i gave you and youll improve no end.

  2. Thanks Jonathan. Of course it was the King's Indian Attack that John Hall taught me. No wonder I was confused all match! Thanks for the purple chess book. Sue

  4. Sue - John has just told me that you played a great game (except for the aforementioned bit where it could have been a killer game). I am so impressed that Nalin was able to give you great advice by the power of his mind and from his sick bed! What a startling idea.

  5. Chris Nallin has special powers over us all - even on when he is soo soo poorly we have to just accept that he is the main man and bow down to him every time he is in our presence!
